Alena Filenkova graduated in interior design from the School of Architecture and Arts of Ekaterinburg (Russia). She went to Paris to further her education at the National High School of Decorative Arts and at the School of Architecture of Paris la Villette. She went on to fully qualify as an architect and worked with several architects' practices in Paris.
In 2008, she started designing shoes intuitively, imagining the models she would like to wear. She is interested in the process of making shoes and learnt the art of designing models with Parisian shoe artisans. She created her first models in a small workshop in the famous Sentier, a Parisian district buzzing with talented prêt-à-porter artisans. In February 2010 she was invited to showcase her first collection of up-market ladies' shoes at the international 'Cuir à Paris' fair. it was a success and her collection was warmly welcomed by professionals and customers alike.
